We made sure she had a clear view of the shed, cabin, through the house to the front door, and a nice path straight into the woods. We are planning to put a tree on top, and circle the grave with the rocks we found while digging.
Indi on her spot.
The beginning of the rock pile.
We found a vein of this mysterious kind of rock that powdered when you touched it, the color was almost indigo blue.
At the very end, it started to drizzle. I mentioned how cliched it was, how every single death scene / sad scene in a movie has rain. I thought it was going to pour, seeing as only that much rain could cover how painful this will be, but the weather forecasted a drizzle.
There is a study that shows a soul weighs one sixth of a pound. (The researchers measures bodies before and after death, almost always the bodies weighed around 1/6th of a pound lighter). I am almost positive she'll be a third of a pound lighter. My dad agrees, we all think dogs have much bigger souls than humans.
Thanks for being so amazing for Indi. It is so very sad to see her go, but so very glad that she had such an amazing life with you all.
ReplyDeleteI, too, will miss her terribly!
it shouldn't have been as easy going as it was to dig the grave, in fact no body even cried yet, but we did later, allot
